1. How does the tempo lock work?

Please make sure that when you drag in a loop your DAW bpm is set exactly to the loop bpm before editing it with ChopMonster. Tempo sync is enabled after you lock your result via the LOCK button in the upper right corner of the waveform visualizer window.

2. How do I playback each slice?

You can hold down the W (C#3 in musical typing) key on your keyboard to hear the whole loop. C#3 on a MIDI keyboard works just as well! To playback each slice and record as MIDI, you can hit C3, D3, E3, F3, etc. The slices are all mapped from C3 up. Click here and watch! (Please note that FL’s middle C is defaulted to C5, so it would be the same, except it would be C5 instead of C3).

3. Why isn't ChopMonster showing up in FL/Windows?

Depending on your computer specs and which version of FL you are using, your computer may need help reading the download file. Click here to watch how to resolve this issue. You may need to adjust the installation path on Windows to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 or C:\VSTPlugIns\common files

4. Why isn't ChopMonster showing up in Ableton/Windows?

Depending on your computer specs and which version of Ableton you are using, your computer may need help reading the download file. Click here to watch how to resolve this issue. You may need to adjust the installation path on Windows to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 or C:\VSTPlugIns\common files

5. Why does my loop sound the same after I hit the "Chop" button?

You must press the lock button (upper right corner of waveform visualizer window) every time you make an adjustment in ChopMonster to hear the result. This is so the audio result can render properly. If you want to retrace your edits, you can press undo as many times as you wish.

6. Why can’t I drag audio into ChopMonster?

Please make sure your audio files are WAV files, NOT AIFF or other audio file formats. You can drag audio files into ChopMonster from within the DAW when using Ableton. Please drag audio from your desktop directly into ChopMonster when using FL or Logic.

7. How do I load ChopMonster in Cubase?

You must load ChopMonster as an instrument in Cubase, not as an effect. Please also make sure the audio files you are using with ChopMonster are in WAV format.

8. Why am I having issues installing ChopMonster on Windows?

Occasionally Windows users must adjust the installation path to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 or C:\VSTPlugIns\common files

9. Why can't I unsubscribe from ChopMonster?

If you purchased ChopMonster anytime before February 7th, you now OWN ChopMonster! We have changed our pricing model to a direct buyout. Anyone who purchased ChopMonster before February 7th, 2023, will no longer be charged any subscription payments!
